Friend is a Sub blowin fool

Ok long story short. Friend 96 impala.

Me -second install for him.

First - 3 crappy JL's that were sitting in storage for years.

Recent. Same car. (2) MA Audio Hard Kore 15's in 2.5 cubes each roughly

(1) MA Audio HK4000, Red top under hood, yellow in trunk

Gains set by me with O'scope head unit and subs.

Subs set with -3 db's also set low because I know him.

I played system while tweaking for over an hour, sounded great, Nice and loud.

Instructed friend on settings and limits also keeping "him" in mind.

Came by today and tells me he hears one sub "scratching". I pulled it out and yep blown.

I don't want to keep messing with this crap.

Another thing, I built a custom amp/false floor incorporated with subs,

he spent money on all this crap but is too cheap to decide on a covering - carpet or whatever. Not much and I guess he assumes that the install and future service and additions are included. I didn't charge a lot, friend and all, but come on.

He wants me to add a eq, now reinstall the sub after the disassembly - carpet and reassembly.

I'm done. He doesn't even apprecitate the deal he got and the work I put in.

First thing he said is "where is the bass knob I told you I wanted installed" I said, "I just saved your system by not installing it" - fooled me.

Epoxy the knobs on the amp.

I spose you could open the amp up and remove all setting after you're done with it.

I'm just gonna have to be straight up with him and tell him this is it and after that I'll have to charge for my time. And if he damages things, well that's on him.

He didn't change any settings on the amp. I know he exceded the set volume and upped the sub level on the head unit.

The worst part is, I know he would have been happier with a good single 15 in a ported enclosure with modest power ~ say 1500 watts or so. But NO he has to have 2 15's and he wanted the amps to show, which is fine, but there was/is no way to fit these 2 15's in a ported enclosure in that trunk and still have room for that giant amp, the mid amp and the extra battery.
