First sub setup help

Hey guys I'm looking to buy my first sub setup, I'll be powering it with a Pioneer GM-5500T 2-Channel amp. It's rated at 400 watts rms, I like the Sound Ordnance B-24 from Crutchfield but don't know much about car subs. Would these be good or should I look elsewhere? If so what do yall recommend? Thanks

Check out the classifieds here, you'll be MUCH happier with pretty much anything sold here than that sound ordinance. Also, do you have that amp already or is that a plan too?

I have that amp already. I was using it to run a cheap Pioneer system but upgraded and figured it'd make a good sub amp. I listen to rock so I don't need a ton of thump just fill out the low end.

I used to have a JLW10 that i powerd with a 300 watt amp, might want to check one of those out. This is amp can put out about that recommended power.

Lots of good subs for under $200. I would look into the new Skar Audio VX 10 or 12, Sundown, SSA or AA subs. Woofersetc.com, WooferWarehouse Car Audio and Electronics are both good sites.

Ok good sites thanks. Just curious as I've never heard of those brands, what makes everybody like them better then a more known name brand? Just more bang for the buck since you aren't paying for the name?

^^ exactly. More bang for the buck. Search all the threads that say "best sub for under $150", etc,etc. There's a lot of the same threads going around lately, but pretty much any "underground" brand is going to be a lot better than Sony for instance (same price point)

I'm not set on anything yet except the amp, and that's just because I already have it. A pawn shop here sales SSA are they really good?

Id like to mention JL, but that will bring too much flaming. So dont say i mentioned JL. Cause JL is overpriced. Much better to be had than JL for the price. No JL. unless you like JL. Then by all means, JL.
