First Fiberglass build!!

I dunno if the volume is right, that depends on the subs.... sounds prolly close, around 1.75 cubes for each sub.

But that port... how big is it in area and volume?

Ok man you need more glass on it glass look's to thin. Once you sand it down you will be getting holes if it is to thin . I recomend use some duraglass some filler then sand it flat run your hand over it . just remember in fiberglass running your hand over fiberglass best thing you can do that way you can tell if there is high and low spots , that way you will know exatcly where you are at. Also use more matting with the right amount of resin to much resin make's the mat your working with to hard to work with it will just be dripping to much off the mat etc when you try to lay it. As for the hardner do not put to much , if you put to much hardner in the resin it will come in contact with the resin and heat up very fast and harden very quickly . Leaving you not being able to work with the resin at all. Also when you are sanding and you get the fiberglass dust on your skin DO NOT RINCE OFF WITH HOT WATER , this will only make it much more itchy ALWAYS run under cold water . Hope this helps & Good luck to you and your project a head:D.

If its to thin it will sound "pingy".You want it to be as solid as possible.A box that size I would use probably 2-2 1/2 gal. resin and probably 3 or 4 packs of glass mat.
ive used just over a gallon of resin and 2 packs of glass mat. i used one pack of glass cloth. its ALOT easier to go around curves and bends. does it matter what is used as far as fiberglass goes. the mat just gets everywhere.

One more thing about the port. can i leave that one alone and put pvc pipe like in the two sides. as you see in some of the pics, there is about 10" by 12" piece of mdf on both sides holding the bottom and back in place.

thanks sooo much for the help. i would prolly be throwing money down the drain trying to get this think to sound right..
