fiberglass sub enclosure

Question, with a fiberglass sub enclosure do you need a mdf ring to mount the sub or mount directly to the fiberglass? This is a bassform one for a Honda Civic coupe. It fits in the one of the corners of the trunk. Air space .81 cu.ft. for a 12in. sub

Cut the ring in half so you have 2 pieces, insert the 2 pieces through the hole, glue the 2 sections of ring together while their inside the box, glue the ring to the underside of the 11" hole.
