Fi-X SQ sub?

Hi I just noticed that I may be able to fit either 2 Fi-X 10's. I'm not sure if the 12 would really save me any space though.

Are these Fi-X subs considered to be a SQ sub? I have no idea what motor / tech design they are using but I can see they are the latest forum boner.

I would not mind spending more on a higher end sub because I want the best I can get, but I can't fit anything over 5.5 inches of mounting depth.

I can't seem to find adire kodas anywhere so if they don't want to sell me their subs screw them. Arc's seem to be out of stock for a few more weeks...

So I guess it is between this sub, or an IDQ as that is all that seems I can even fit.

Not sure if the TC sounds SMT's will be worth waiting for but they are 3x as expensive...which reall is not a problem unless can get a slightly deeper woofer than can do the same thing and sound good doing it. (I could probably fit 2 TC sounds SMT 12" though...)

Do you think they would be a better buy than the TC sounds SMT (4 inch mounting depth) when they come out? (I know it is hard to say since they are not out yet) Since I can really fit either sub.

Box will of course be sealed truck box, I could go ported if I do only one sub..

I'd do one sub ported as if everything is doe correctly (proper power, box size etc. etc. it will be just as loud as the 2 subs sealed but the 2 subs sealed will have a flatter response even if it is one sub sealed vs 1 sub ported.

The sealed sub(s) should get a little lower as well unless you tune the ported box real low like 28-32Hz.

flatter response being better for SQ?

Money is not the issue thats not why I am buying a $109 sub, I was looking at getting it because it will outperform a TC's SMT? (sucks they are not out yet) or somehting like an arc audio woofer while giving me a little mountind depth to play with.

The only hard part about a ported box design will be that I have to go over the hump under my rear seats. The titan has a hump there like every other truck I have sceen. My friend said he can help me do it though if ported really is the best way to go. I could probably get the 1.5 cuft or slightly less airspace, but it would take just as much space as the non ported dual woofers. So if non ported would give better SQ I would like to take that route.

Also my amp is 300x2 @ 2ohm or 600x1 @4ohms, I'm not sure how I could hookup a single sub to it unless I ran it off one channel. Would that be ok?

Finaly can anyone here comment on how these sound vs something like a W6V2? Or an Arc audio / IDQ woofer?

Duno about the comparison, but I can honestly say the IDQ12's sound very nice. and can get plenty loud too. My bro got 135.6 with 2 IDQ's 1cft sealed and 400rms each. Main thing is they sound amazing in SQ. I duno about the FI X series. my Q12's sound really good.

The X series is just a basic entry level driver specifically targeting the people who are just getting into car audio with their first basic system....nothing more...nothing less

Considering about 10 people or so have purchased them and are currently running them at this time...dont look for too many honest answers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Most of the people who have the subs are purchasing fully loaded BTL's or using the Q series at this point and time.

Hope that helps

Yea thats the problem it looks like only entry level subs from any company will fit I would gladly purchase a fully loaded sub if it would fit ... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

But you guys are convincing on the IDQ's Not sure I can fit 12's..but maybe and I'm not sure what series if ODQ to get either.

TC1000 10" says it needs 6.5 inches of mounting depth thats an entire inch deeper than I can make the box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wallbash.gif.1310150c49dd52e0fbe1813a0681e5c3.gif One inch has been killing me for such a long time now.

I wish I could fit a Q //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wallbash.gif.1310150c49dd52e0fbe1813a0681e5c3.gif or hell why stop there?

At this point maybe I should just put my 8 year old JL W0 12's in there...Since I don't see much of a point in buying some other crappy sub that will have similar output and SQ. This is truely sad. Not everyone drives a car or an SUV..

Was really looking for an upgrade after all I'm sick and tired of these POS's JL's I have had for years on end...

there's IDQ10's I was just saying the 12's cuse thats what my bro got.
Yea I was petty set on arc audio 10" 's but I'm not sure the 10" IDQ's will have enough output for me. I think I'm pretty much just screwed unless I remove the rear seat. but I stealthed the entire install so I really wanted something to go under the rear seats... Might have to try the IDQ's or wait patiently for the SMT's but my Patience is running out since it has been a year and a half since I finished the entire install (sound deadened everything but the ceiling sealed up doors ran wires under carpet for amps etc...) EXCEPT for the sub because I can not find anything decent...I am amzed I waited this long....And all my work is going to waste since I bought the new truck....

Yeah I waited a year to get all my stuff, than did all the setup at once. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif, if ur really want to get the FI X than u can try it. Cuse its a new sub and it would be nice for somone to give a review on it.

yea, I know what you mean but having everything done except the sub is a ***** every time I turn the Fron't stage up I start thinking about subwoofers...

It sounds like I need to buy 2 IDQ 10" 2 Fi 10" and see what is better. (I was hoping someone could contrast them) Then buy 2 Arc Audio subs when they are available, and by that time the subs I really want will be out...SMT's so I will have to buy them too.

So much for asking Q's on a forum to find the answers....

Sorry man, the product is so new that not enough people have their hands on it to come up with a valid opinion...i cant give anything other then my opinion, and i've done that.
