Excursion of a woofer

i'm pretty sure their hitting around 140 db even sealed at full tilt. As for the gains, they are set to their limits, any higher it will go into protect. They get loud, it's just the excursion issue i am wondering about. I guess it might be the sealed 1.5 CF that is causing it like stated before.
eh my bros car does a 143. ill show u the vid if u want to compare. kinda gives u sumthin to base ur loudness off of.

that's another thing, what is the length of excursion for type r's? I am guessing somewhere around 3/4 inch or less? Not too sure.
What does your excursion look like man?
its pretty **** good. i dont have a vid camera or else id show u but it is more than yours. but my box is ported.

you guys are tards for going above 50 on those HU's. It doesn't benefit you in any way, even if it isn't clipping (which it likely is somewhat), it has higher distortion. I use 50 because its an easy number to deal with, and because it's definitely not clipping at 50, and its a good deal away from max, realistically even 45 would be better.

k vid of air movement. backseat was in so the max it would be doin in the vid is lil over a 142 at the headrest. do an air movement vid because flex usually doesnt mean ish.
I would argue air movement doesn't necessarily mean much all the time either. Namely due to things like the fact that, the single 15" SX I installed recently in a friends car seems to move relatively close to the amount of air my car moves, but my car sounds easily twice as loud.

wow, that is alot of air movement. I can't even believe those are type r's!!!

how many watts are they getting again?

i can tell that is some loud bass though because your highs were completely lost in the vid... nice

true. u really just have to hear it in person to kno.

excursion is based on the tuning of the box, the amount of power used, and the tone being played. The further away from the box tuning the higher the excursion. seeing the videos, I don't think you are sending enough power to the subs. try turning the gains up.

actually they are cvrs;) the aqs he has now sound much better and play lower and higher in the same setup. yes the cvrs were loud for 60 bucks apiece //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif there are on a rockford bd1000 with stock alt and two batts. i imagine after rise its around 1 kw. the box is around 4.2 cubes tuned around 34hz with like 70 inches of port. look in my album, it has pics of the box, i have pics of the aq's but i havent uploaded them:crap: also the car isnt made for numbers its a daily very musical street beater:) peaks at 37hz:eek: put ur r's in a ported box with similar specs sealed off like u have now and itll seriously bang.
