to be honest, i never even thought of it when i bumped with the car off. Probably should have though. You should really post up a vid of your system though, i wanna see yours compared to mine.

box plays a huge role on excursion... alot of the time you see huge excursion is usually below tuning freqency in a ported box....
sealed usually have the least excursion towards the lower end (depending on box size and the speaker) because the air acts as a spring... but IB setups can have high excursion too

ported boxes tend to have very little excursion at there tuning freq (correct me if im wrong)

i just checked my voltage at full tilt....... it drops to 10.61v with the car off and drops to 12.81v with the car on. I bet i am losing 100-200 rms due to this. I upped my gains a little bit and it doesn't go into protect at all, so i am pretty happy. the woofer is moving alot more now.

I just took a vid of it after i set the gains higher, tell me what you think about it now.

Exactly. Here's a video to prove it, not the best, but it works.



Keep in mind this is off a mere 1,000w in about 2 cubes sealed. When I had 2k going to it in 5 cubes sealed it got MUCH lower and louder and it moved a BUNCH more.

my friend has the same car but an escort. with r12 in a 2.5 box sub forward port back on a directed 1500d at 2 ohms, so about 700 watts i think. he was getting the front wipers to come off the window, those cars seem pretty easy to get loud in for a trunk car.

i heard the 2 volt pioneers clip at 61 from 3 different sites. I don't know which to believe.
