EQ setting

is it just me or do others get pissed off when adjusting eq's? i can adjust my eq till it sounds great on one song, then change songs and it sucks *** to the point where i violently throw shit around in my car, and i haven't even hooked up the eq and am only messing with bass and treble right now. **sigh**

EQ'ing can be tricky, that's why I use test disks and songs that are known for their tonality, it makes things a bit easier.

Usually stuff that's recorded well (hopefully!), jazz, orchestral, various shit meant to show different flaws or weak spots in the system. So there's tracks for center imaging, overall dynamics, stage position, etc, etc...

I remember Matt from ID helping me adjust my funkdafied EQing. he had a RTA and used a track off the IASCA cd that had nothing but a static noise. it was interesting. i'm assuming that static track played all the frequencies.

i agree with adjusting EQs by ear being a b1tch. but i prefer not throwing things around in my car.
