electrical for Q1-4500

I have a 370a elite mechman installed already, d3400 under the hood. I have 2 havoc 18s, I connected the amp the other day and it was clipping like crazy, the bass did sound a little louder but not much louder than how it sounded when I had my brutus 1600 on them at 1ohm. voltage on my dash was dropping pretty low maybe about high 11s low 12s. amp got warm, and it didn't sound as I expected it to. will it get louder if I get more batts? how much AH would you guys recommend for this setup?

55 ah for every 1000 watts so you kinda need 2-3 group 31s in the back man. You also need to redo or upgrade your power and grounds if you are dropping to 11-12 volts. The Alt power delivery is failing if your alt cant hold above resting voltage.

I don't know exactly to what the voltage is dropping to because I don't have a volt meter with a numeric reading, its just that meter in the dash by my gas and temp gauges. it was dropping lower than the 14 that's for sure. the alt seems to be holding up good, with my brutus 1600 at 1 ohm and the d3400 under the hood it was never below 14, it would even get near the 14 on the dash. ill be looking into some batteries next, either kinetic or deka. I think 2 dekas and it should be good to go

They aren't meant to be used for car audio, but got them for 80 bucks a piece so. I can't complain.

First thing you should do is get a meter so you can monitor your voltage. Also forsure need more batts . At least a couple nice ones. . . . What kind of power and ground wire are you running? Where is your amp grounded? Have you done the big 3?

And also whats the specs of your enclosure?

1/0 big 3 with ofc and all ofc 0 gauge for my amp, which is a 4500 and I had it wired to 1 ohm. my alt is a 370a and as of right now my ground is on the bolt of the rear seat, which I grinded down to the bare metal, I want 2 batts

I think if you found 2 group 31s, you'd be fine.

My dash stil says 14v when my volt better at amp says 12volts... You can't use dash voltage as an accurate way.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
