it finally came! this thing is heavy as fk, not to mention that solid *** 0 gauge for the big 3 also. im very satisfied with the quality that mechman has to offer. heres some pics. does 229a at idle 800 rpm and 372a at 1800 cruise my first real OFC 0 gauge.. this stuff is way heavier than CCA 0 gauge, wow

that's the only mechman alt id buy, even then im still so so about their customer service.
weigh some 0 gauge boat cable, shits heavy lol
I'm going to run 2 of their 250 elites soon, the quality of the elite series is top notch. I actually am replacing my 370 with those. I think the lack of customer service claims come from their slow responses to emails. I'm a dealer for them and haven't had any issues with calling in to take care of warranty work or anything like that.

I've seen people with real problems spend countless hours troubleshooting a bad alternator for them and paying for shipping it back and forth because mechman refused to believe the problem was their alternator. When I was interested in buying an alternator I emailed them in hopes of learning that they had since modified their procedures to be more accommodating to those with legitimate issues. Never heard back. The last thing I wanted to do was drop a lot of cash on an alternator and worry about the possibility of running into problems and wasting hours hassling to get it fixed.

Understandably, there are people who do not know what they are doing, but when I considered the sheer amount of time and attempts it took for the alternator to finally get fixed I was pretty disconcerted to say the least. Alternator manufacturers are not scarce for GM engines.

I think some of their troubleshooting in the past wasn't the best... but as you said, many problems are install related, and everyone instantly blames the alt. I personally went through the same thing with a PCM regulated alt, determined that it was bad. It ended up that the car had a bad connection somewhere making the PCM regulator go haywire. I've had good luck with warranty returns lately (the past year).

before i bought the alt i did a lot of research on everything from their product to customer service, about a week after i purchased the alt i called mechman headquarters (yes they answered the very first time i called) ppl always say they dont answer. anyway i called to ask them when should i be expecting a tracking number and they gave me the exact shipping day and expected delivery and emailed me a tracking number that same day. heard the door bell ring on the morning of the expected delivery date and there it was. from my experience first hand with them, their customer service is about 8/10 and i would buy from them again.

now when you say your replacing your 370 with 2 elite 250s, what kind of 370a are you going to replace? singer, dc power, etc.. ?

I'm replacing a mechman 370. I'm switching to 16v so I needed an external regulator, and sold my 370 rather than paying to have it converted over. I bought 2 of the 250s when they were on sale for $400.

Mechman told me that they don't use OEM parts, so yeah, not going anywhere near that company.
that's cool man, whatever floats your lil raft boat. getting 230 amps at idle and 370+ at cruise, I can care less about a OEM part. proper installation is key to not having issues.
