Door Pod ideas

How can you know this without knowing the person? Answer: You can't. You're just pissed because he's not taking your advice.
First off, you don't need practice runs to have a succesful first time. These panels were my first fiberglass project and they turned out absolutly perfect.
Wow, and I thought I was making the assumptions around here...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif:laugh:

I don't care if he takes my advice or not, just trying to save the guy some time.

And you think your "door-bunions" look perfect? Stay away from my car!

people have paid me thousands of dollars to build things that ****

not suggesting that yours **** or even commenting on your install- just making an observation. it always seems that the people with the most $ want you to make them the dumbest things.

let us know how it sounds. i've been working on my door pods for the last 2 days unsuccessfully because first time fiberglassing. i thought about how the pod on the door panel wont sound as good as IB and cutting up the door panel (my last option) because it's not as sturdy and it will resonate. is this true? but a small enclosure might make up for that too.

eh i glassed my doors and matched the texture to plastic with a rag and this weird red body filler nitro something, but i am naturally good with my hands and it came easy to me. just dont jump in over ur head take it slow and you can peice it together. just start peicing it together and go fromt here. i also had my dad by me sometimes who used to own a body shop and when i needed help with matching plastic texture he showed me a bit.

How much more clearance room do you need ? Can you redo the grill area and gain any extra clearance ? If you can , why not just make some mdf spacers then make a new grill //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I've always wondered....when making a sealed enclosure for mids is their a optimum internal volume and would different volumes drastically change the sound of the woofer like a box does with subwoofers.......would porting a mid offer any benefits or even be a logical idea?

im gonna be doing something with my front door panels...ive got so many drivers though, its gonna be hard to fit alot of them in the door without having them fire into the seats....idk i wanna see pics so...hurry up and get to work! lol

Brilliant. But how should i redo the grill area?

If the grill comes off post a picture without it , and maybe one from behind . need to see what your working with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Enclosure volume plays a big role for mids. Porting can be done , but it's tricky //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
