To be honest, I first learned the basics on the whole "custom fiberglass" thing from a vhs tape back in the early '90's put out by a company called N.A.M.E. Some of you guys might know the tapes I'm talking about. I just took the basics and ran with it. The first few projects looked OK but definately not show quality. It just took some practice and some trail and error. Customtronic, I have a question for you - on that door panel, do the speakers rely on the stiffness of the new panel front or are they braced/secured to the door frame?

The panel itself is pretty strong/stiff but I also have internal bracing and the center portion of the panel as well as the surround is bolted to the door.

Sorry Baller....not sure I'm following or understanding the question. As far as it being sturdy and durable? Yes, very. I haven't noticed anything that looks like it might be a problem or weak spot.

No like. You connected the bottom piece to the actual door and not the panel. im defintly going with something like this.

they look good. im also on the idea of having the pod somehow mount to the panel and the door frame.
