dont want a sub anymore what rear fill can i replace with?

well the re 8s are pretty heavy...and then 2 of them plus custom boxes...are going to weigh just as much as the setup i have now. the jl 6's weigh 5 lbs each. can't beat that. but back to speakerS? what speakers would be worth it? i know nothing can replace a sub. but other than the eu700 which really looks like a sub. what 6x9 or 6 1/2 can i use?

The "weight" issue doesn't really hold water when you're talking about a few pounds here and there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Go for a dual 8" IB setup, firing into the trunk from the rear deck...Image Dynamics comes off the top of my head for some products to check out.

just deal with it, and to teh guy that said big steros are overrated ur just nuts. the EU 700's are mini subs and whats 14 pounds? u wont feal a difference there.like a couple other people said find an 8 that can run IB and you will be set.

No, that's just his opinion //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If you're running dual 15's in a large ported box, I could see weight & balance being an issue if your vehicle wasn't built to take it. But two 8" drivers? Come on, if I can lift them over my head, I know they can't weigh that much...because I'm a skinny **** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I just installed a pair of old school 6.5 Coustic subs, they sound great. 6.5 subs hasve got to be better than 6x9s.

Hit up Squeak, he may still have a pair of Coustic 6.5 subs (new) left, for the price, they are a great deal. I think he was asking $55 for the pair. If he doesn't have them, I still have the contact of the person we got them from.

eu700 EU700! doit you wont be disapointed.

That would be my move. Those little suckers get loud........too bad the price went up like a week ago. Still a good buy.

Flakko, dont foget to pm me about that 700 we were talking about.

i got a jl 12w3...sounds good..just to much in the back. i got a lancer evolution, so basically weight is usually against me. i try not to have much weight at all but i love having sick sounds in my car. so that's why im trying to find a compromise. ill prolly end up just getting a 8 RL-i anyone know how to make a small box for that? i mean the serious smallest you can get?

Yeah I said the big systems were overrated...and its true, esp. if the big system isn't tuned right. I have one 8 in a little ported box that was made for it, and obviously it doesn't hit or turn heads like my 12's, but in combination w/my 6x9's it makes for more realistic, balanced bass as the 12's were in a generic, undersized ported box. I'd definitely run something w/a 10 and a passive radiator through the rear deck over 2 12's in a huge ported box...IMO that stuff is good for comp, but I don't need all that everyday, and I listen to rap! :shrugs: just MO...I feel what the thread starter wants to do...

But if you want decent bass you're gonna have to get a sub. I've heard some pretty surprising stock stereos (Hyundai and Nissan's non-Bose come to mind) but nothing beats a well tuned sub. I'm seriously considering going w/a passive radiator setup...

I have a single 12" in a slot ported box.....probably weighs about 35-50lbs altogether.....I wouldnt give up the sound to save about 10-15lbs........that just doesnt make sense.

I've sold the only pair that I had. However, I'm glad you like them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I didn't get a chance to play with mine as much as I wanted to.
