DONE With Pioneer

All those features mean nothing IMO. It's how well the radio is made. I just demoed a Dnx9140 and a W505, both amped up on the same speakers. I played with the 13 band Eq and xover and still could not get it to sound better than the Alpine with the 3-band Eq and 2.5 volt outputs. I've also been through with Pioneer for a long time. I don't see why some of you are still fumbling around with cd's when you could use an Ipod. I couldn't deal with all that skipping.

Lets see...my Kenwood deck in my Taurus lasted 14 months. The faceplate died. The radio would still play, but you couldn't read anything on the faceplate as NOTHING on it would light up. Kenwood's response was, "we'd like to help you, but you're 2 months out of warranty". It wasn't a high-end unit, and for what it would cost to repair, I just bought another unit. I've got a Pioneer DEH-P980BT in my Maxima, and so far, I love it. My buddy heard me saying I was going to get a Pioneer, and he told me "I guarantee you, you'll have noise issues". Knock-on-wood, but I've got a Pioneer, and I also put one in my wife's Altima...no noise issues with either one. As far as longevity...we'll just have to see.

I've had my Alpine CDA-9887 for 2 years now...no problems. And it has been installed in two trucks over that time. Love the Imprint.

I have always purchased nothing but Alpine for aftermarket HU's. I figure if it ain't broke...

If you don't like Pioneer, and I can't say they are or are not any good as I have never owned or operated one, buy Alpine. You can't go wrong. IMHO.

Ya from what I have heard there starting to come up in quality.
they are, have their discontinued model, 3 way active crossover, oel screen, 5v preouts. its a beast, only thing i hate is that there are no front or rear crossovers, unless you run active.

Eclipse owns all...try to find an eclipse horror story cuz i havent...i love my 7000
If you do a search you will find ALOT of Eclipse horror stories. I read a thread over on termpro when I was looking into Eclipse about a shop recieving a shipment of dead units. Every company has horror stories so its really just preference. I will never use a Pioneer again because of the shipping and noises (never even had RCA's) ran to it and a straight swap to a panasonic fixed everything. I'll be sticking with my panasonics until they start crapping out.

I really like my Pioneer. My next HU would be an Eclipse CD7200 if I could afford it. I want the higher voltage line outs. I am thinking of just getting a carpc though and avoiding HUs altogether.

Personally I have always used Alpine, I had a pioneer DVD Flip up once, and after awhile the CD would only eject about half way, had to help it the rest (hold up on the cd)

A friend of mine had one, cd quit ejecting.. And I have noticed the ones that came out about two years ago (Big *** button, only about half of it was a screen, right side) The button always falls off...
