Please help! I am going crazy trying to work this out.

I am in the UK. I have a 2009 Peugeot 207 HDI. I am trying to fit a Pioneer MVHS420BT unit to the car, to replace the stock one. I would also like to have the steering wheel control active if possible, but I'd be happy with just having the Pioneer head unit working.

A place I called quoted £80 just for the harness, no fitting. So I am trying to do this myself...

As I understand it, the Peugeot 207 has a 'quadlock' connector to its head unit. I cannot find what exact harness / adapter I need for the Pioneer unit to fit this. I have what I think is a Pioneer to ISO harness from my previous car - see pic below. So that might help somewhere along the way?

I also bought a Quadlock harness from AliExpress, but this does not fit, as the connectors are the wrong way around (they should be 'inputs' instead of 'outputs' - also im not sure they even match up with the quadlock in my car):

In that AliExpress kit came a Canbus adapter, listed for my vehicle, which I hope might work.

What harness and adapter might I need to fit this Pioneer head unit to my car, and where can I buy this in the UK?

Any help is much appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi Conor!

You're on the right track with your 2009 Peugeot 207 HDI and the Pioneer MVHS420BT unit. Let's break down what you need to get everything working, including the steering wheel controls if possible.

### 1. **Harness/Adapter Needed:**
- **Quadlock to ISO Adapter:** You will need a Quadlock to ISO harness adapter to connect your Peugeot's factory wiring to your Pioneer unit. Look for an adapter specifically designed for the Peugeot 207.
- **Steering Wheel Control Interface:** If you want to retain your steering wheel controls, you will also need a steering wheel control adapter that is compatible with both the Peugeot 207 and the Pioneer MVHS420BT unit. Brands like Connects2 or Autoleads often make these interfaces.

### 2. **Where to Buy:**
- **Online Retailers:** Websites like Amazon, eBay, or Halfords usually carry these adapters. Search for terms like "Peugeot 207 Quadlock to ISO adapter" and "Peugeot steering wheel control interface."
- **Specialist Car Audio Retailers:** Check stores like Car Audio Centre or online shops focused on car audio equipment.

### 3. **Installation:**
- **Wiring:** Connect the ISO harness from the Pioneer unit to the Quadlock adapter. Make sure to match the colors correctly (usually, the manual will provide a wiring diagram).
- **Steering Wheel Controls:** If using a steering wheel control adapter, follow the specific instructions provided with it to connect it to both your vehicle and the Pioneer unit.

### 4. **Additional Tips:**
- Before starting the installation, ensure your car's battery is disconnected to avoid any electrical issues.
- Take your time and test the connections before finalizing the installation to ensure everything works as expected.

If anyone else has experience with this specific setup or can suggest specific products, please jump in!

Good luck with your installation! Let us know if you need more help.
