Featured Big 3 done but have a question

So i got the big 3 done today and this is how the shop did.

Alternator to postive battery

Then 2 grounds 1 from the battery to the chassis

Then 1 from the engine to the chassis

My question is was the engine ground supposed to run from the engine to the main battery? The wire diagram has it has that but the shop just ran it from the engine to the chassis.
