Do i need caps on my tweeters ?

No, you don't if the amp x-over is adequate. You could use a larger cap to protect them in the event the amp x-over fails, personally, I'm not a fan of using anything in the signal path if it doesn't need to be there.

Which tweeters, which amp and what is the frequency you're going to cross them at?

I run caps on all mine regardless. If the amp fails to deliver properly I want make sure my tweets are protected to the fullest capability I can. Thats me though. I feel like more speakers get cooked by people in general running active and or no protective caps

This right here...

I pick a cap that is going to cross the tweeter at the fs then use my amp or dsp to set the actual hpf I want. This lets me control the acoustical crossover but if the crossover fails the cap will typically protect the tweeter. Or if the amp malfunctions and has something like turn on pop it will usually save the tweeter.

I started doing this because I mistakenly routed my midbass output to my tweeters during a tuning session. My mistake popped a pretty expensive tweeter. Now I have protection caps set for 1300hz where as my dsp is set to 2500hz

Replaced them with DD a series ceramic dome which I honestly like more.

Just need to order the pods for my m3 carbons so I can lower the hpf on my tm65mkiv.

That and finish my sub stage so my front sub doesn't have to play down to 30hz

Yup , the dsp should have input sections, it may have one for sub? Hu to dsp. Dsp to amps, amps to speakers. Probably help you to draw this all...

If you can find these in your area. Id recommend these for drop ins. They play from 40Htz on up. Sound very nice on amplified power for premium...

Honestly, beyond what you need. It will do the trick for sure, but it is excessive. Not a bad thing, just more than you will ever need. No need...
