Design help

Got 'Roids?
ive got some options now to get a decent sized box into my trunk via back seat opening. the sub is a 12'' fi bl and i need the box to be 2.5 after all displacements, and id like a tuning of 32hz.

i did a quick sketchup on ms paint to show you the shape of the opening and i added dimensions also. but id like to get some input and help on a design for the boxes. Id like to do aero's this time, to save space and because i like the looks of them.

heres the opening and with its dimensions:

heres option 1 for a box that has the shape of the opening, will be firing in cabin and will be sealed off from trunk:

and heres the second option for a box that only fits through the bottom section.

sub will be on top and ports firing into the rear of the trunk:

also for depth i have about 23''

lmk what you guys think, thanks!

looks good, I would go firing into the cabin...just make sure to seal off the trunk real-good-like
i know, id like to do it that way, but it would be a while before i can fully deaden the trunk and the rear deck, and then seal it completely. if i do go with that design, ill just have to use alot of old sheets and blankets lol.

would it sound just as loud with the sub firing up and ports firing to the rear? or not as loud? i know this is a vehicle specific question, but i mean in general, because my cavalier's cabin space may be around the same size as other small cars.

ok. well looks like im gonna do that then, would the box have any drawbacks due to the top sides having angles like that? or is it going to help?

Also, another option may be to have the port in the rear window firing up and subs firing forwards
i was thinking of that, there is already a small hole in the rear deck's sheet metal, but i dont want to cut any holes in the car (for the rear decks covering) , thats why im trying to design around the angles.

but thanks for the suggestion, i just wish i had an older car so i could go postal on it.

My saturn's rear deck is basically a giant hole in the middle now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif...pretty much open air straight into the cabin //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif...but yea, i understand not wanting to cut it up.

And the angles shouldn't make any difference.

yeah, your saturn is pretty badass, i wish i could throw an 18'' in my car lol.

but its an 04, and its not paid off, still under warranty. i really wish i could just wall the **** thing and get it over with, but that will be in a few years if i can ever get a bigger vehicle.

I will NEVER get an suv in my life //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif...mark my words

I hate seeing people rolling around/to work or something all by themselves in their suburbans and escalades (and dont get me started on the land rovers)...what a waste, it kind of makes me mad..

ill have to take some more measurements to make sure this thing will fit through my doors and be able to fit in without problems.
