made me lol for realI’m sorry that me clipping my own equipment reliably offends you?
People put 8k on them for burps. No cone or tensile failures.Because I’ve owned many stock coned subs with little tiny leads and fried many of them with the coils perfectly intact. Since I’ve had woofers reconed with triple leads I’ve never ever had that issue again. Just my experience. It may seem like it but I’m really not here just to argue with everyone we all have better things to do just seems like everyone here immediately jumps to assuming I’m a complete idiot n00b just because I have a tendency to clip woofers for better hair tricks and higher numbers. As long as you aren’t recklessly frying woofers left and right I don’t see why it’s such a big issue? Just know to stop if they start to stink and you’re pretty safe ....
Good information. I appreciate actual factual evidence. And I cannot argue that psi is better than all of DDs recones only the cone that was in my sub already.People put 8k on them for burps. No cone or tensile failures.Dd presses multiple layers together in a press you can't tell it more than one.
Dd constantly is ahead of the game when it comes to cones.
The 18" cones has more cone area and is lighter.
I've prototyped for several years and PSI can't touch dd.
They use the kraft pulp cones whiskey are 50% heavier and the coils simply don't take as much power. Not to mention what you loose in weight with the aluninum coil hurts in motor strength and power handlin aka. Not as loud.
I've read done 153+ with one old 9515D
You’re 100% correct I do need a larger amp but that costs money so for the time being I must work with what I have. As I have said several times clipping isn’t ideal, But an effective way to push smaller equipment a little further for short amounts of time before allowing wonders to cool. Then you need a bigger amp if it’s quieter with clean power. I’ve never blown a sub and I always over power them with CLEAN power
I still have three9512g’s and 4 9510g’s and maybe a few others ..they were the best motors besides theneo’s ThatDD ever released ..they had some good stuff before that but theGs were definitely their bestJust thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone knows more about this. I have a 9500G18 and was wondering is this one of the good 9500 motors? I know there a a few of them. Also my motor has what appears to be several different cooling options, was wondering if my was customized from DD or if all the G motors have so many cooling holes and groooves. Also how does the power handling and frequency response change with the different motors or is it about the same? Any other knowledge about the G (like the years produced) or any of the 9500 series would be cool just trying to learn more about what I have.
Thanks.

What system are you running now ?While the G is a great revision if I was building off a revision I would go with a J as it allows for a larger coil and guass is much higher then any 9500 revision.
The mms is much greater and Thierry is less Flux density. The qes directly shows this..While the G is a great revision if I was building off a revision I would go with a J as it allows for a larger coil and guass is much higher then any 9500 revision.
Wow. I'm in the wrong business.Psi recone is $210 shipped
While the aluminum coil definitely suffers in power handling, I've found them to be more efficient (less moving mass). Your individual case may vary, but if you're chasing 10ths don't rule out testing AL.Not to mention what you loose in weight with the aluninum coil hurts in motor strength and power handlin

Seriously, you really think he is doing something better than OEM DD parts? Not on your life. Absolute best case scenario he is buying OEM parts and charging you 100$ to assemble and ship them.
Anyway 95XX platform has been really solid pretty much since the first generation. From what I've discussed with people in the business all those "cooling features" milled into the motor are just gimmicks and don't make any significant difference in real world thermal power handling or performance but they look cool. The only thing that does make a difference is the pole vent. Most of the time solid pole loses SPL, but then again some folks have gained a bit taping over their pole vent, so you can't really generalize too much anywhere if you're chasing 10ths but if your goal is playing music loud, just build the largest DD spec box you can fit and it'll deliver.
