DC lvl 4 10" sub box for good SQ in a Ranger

I have a DC lvl 4 with XL parts. I drive a 2002 Ford Ranger. I will have 1000-1500 watts to put on it. I want to build a box for the sub with a focus on sound quality over SPL. Box size is no issue as I am not using the back seats and they can be taken out. I was thinking of a ported box 1.2 ft^3 tuned to 28 with 18in^2 port area. Sub facing down ~4" from the floor, port facing passenger side rear door.

Any input appreciated.

I don't think you would want to use that sub for sq. Especially tuned that low.

I know that's not a great SQ sub, but I just want to build the box and place the sub and port to maximize the SQ out of it. I still want it to get decently loud though.

What tuning would you suggest then?

34 hertz Fs on the sub is 40.7

tuning frequency should be based around what type of music you plan on listening to

put it in the recommended 1cubic foot box with 16+ port area per foot, tune it in the mid to low 30s and it'll do just fine.

why people tune below 30hz, I'll never understand
