4 10s under back seat of a truck.

Not sure where to start with this. Still a bit undecided on the subs I want to go with, or how many.

Right now I have a Sundown Audio Nightshade 18 v2 on an Saz 2000d.

I drive a 2004 gmc sierra 1500 ext cab.

Just spoke with a guy from Sundown and he told me I could trade in, and upgrade my 2000d for one of the new scv-3000d's. This would open up a few options.

The ns 18 was awesome. The box was huge, can't quite remember the size, I think it was almost 6 cubes tuned to 30hz. (4 years ago, when I was 19, I wanted to smash some lows..)

Now id like to go with a different set up. Thinking about going with 4 sa-10s. or maybe 2 x10s (or possibly x12's). Worst case id go with 4 sa-8v2's.

Now I think the 4 10's would be cool. I saw a build from a guy who lifted his back seat 4 inches to make the box work. Also I don't mind having the sub box hang out past the seat.

I want to keep the seat, but im not worried about passenger comfort. The only things that ride back is usually my dog or random junk. Occasionally ill do some bar hopping and have ppl in the back, so they can just put their feet up for 10 mins and be alright.

so if box size isn't too big of an issue, and I went with the sa-10's would that be possible? I still like hitting the lows. guess I just want to see if anyone has some details or maybe more insight.

Anyone know how the sa's compare to the x's?

thanks

kyle

this is how compromise happens. im going to just end up getting rid of the seat and building a big *** box. damnit. not again. haha

the vid I saw was 4 re audio 10s

side note, sa series vs the x series vs the z4 series.
Sa 8's vs the X 8. if I went with 8's I don't think there would be an issue with getting a box to fit.
If SAs- I'd do 4

Xs- maybe 3 (could do 2 though, have a guy local pushing 5k to 2 x 12s)

Zv4- 2 or 1

yeah been doing a bit of research and the x's look really awesome. I may say **** it, and take the back seat out and just get 2 15's. But I don't think id go over 3k watts on my amp. MAyyyybe 4k. but would 3 k be enough to push 2 x's?

I have always planned to (and still plan on) buying a crew cab truck and taking out the rear bench seat and putting in 2 bucket seats in the back. Then you could build a center console box from the front to back of the truck. Plenty of room for 4 10s or 2 or 3 12s. And still comfortably fit 4 adults

I have two 10's in a silverado completely under seat 1.25 cu. I didn't have to change anything and it's completely under back seat. My buddy has 4 Sundown 8's under his seat with no mods also and he gets to about 140-141ish.

nice yeah im going to put my nightshade 18 v2 back in and take my seat out probably just for a little while. see how I feel and what kind of sound I want. I was told I can trade my saz 2000d in for a scv 3000. so ill probably upgrade and depending on my tastes, I may keep my seat, and do a few 8's under the seat, weather sa 8's or some x 8's, or ill go with 2 x15's or something. I love the lows. My nightshade 18v2 is in a 6 cube box (if I remember correctly and it is tuned to 30 hz. so naturally, what the little research I have done, I am drawn to the x's.
