Crossover mounting inside door - help please...

All,

I am adding Rockford Fosgate T1T-S tweeters to the system in my 2011 Ford F250.

I tapped in to the speaker leads in the door(s) to feed the crossover input for the tweeter(s). So, I'd really like to mount the crossover(s) inside the door(s). There is definitely space forward of the window - but not much room to get hands in there to do the install.

Has anyone here installed moderate sized crossover in late model Ford Super Duty front door?

Any ideas on how/where to attach would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Never put crossovers inside the door - that space gets wet every time it rains and the crossovers will corrode and fail.

The compromise is to put the crossovers on the surface of the door, between the metal and interior panel.  Just look for a cavity created by the door panel and screw it to the door with small sheet metal screws (i prefer piercing over tapping).  Instead of adding screws you can secure it with really good tape (like 3M waterproof double-sided tape).

KHA,

Thanks for taking the time to post. Good point on corrosion hazard in the door. So, good place to use dielectric grease to protect the connections!

Your comments also made me think of some places that I didn't consider. So, that's helpful as well.

Thanks!
