Where do you set your gains and crossover on amp when you add an actice crossover? Do you set all of the amps dials to zero and just use the active x-over controls?

If the cross has a sufficient bandpass filter set the cross and put the amp on "Full"

I have the Kicker 03KX3 3-Way Active Crossover:

-3-way 18dB/octave active electronic crossover with one variable low pass and two variable high pass filters

-High-pass crossover frequencies from 35 Hz - 400 Hz; low-pass from 45 Hz - 250 Hz

-Remote control bass boost is variable to +18dB at 40Hz

-24dB/octave subsonic filter, two stereo inputs, and three stereo outputs for versatile control

Nice cross, but you may have to use the cross on the amp/s to filter the signal accordingly. The KX3 has a good line-drive so discipline yourself with the amp's gain.

Pushing 4 O2 6.5 8ohm speakers, two in the front in parallel and two in the back in parallel as well as 4 tweeters.

I've put my amps on full except for the bass boost as you suggested and tweaked the EQ on my Pioneer DEH-6000UB HU a little bit to tune it and it sounds good. But your saying to be conservative on the amps? Should I pull back some on the the amps gains? I don't want to risk getting them hot, will they be more prone to this...thanks for all your help.

IMHO amp gain shouldn't cross 50% in extreme circumstances but you should try properly gain matching.
