Connecting 0 gauge to amp that only has 4 gauge inputs.

because id much rather have a secure connection. rather than having loose wires and such around.
thats just me tho. i dont mind spending 15 bucks to make me feel better.
Not to mention it makes for a much more professional look.

A lot safer too...

Secure? if you shave off enough for it to fit, it should be more secure than a block going into the amp terminal. Also, the blocks won't have as much surface contact area as straight wire.

And I am not sure but I know on the ap 1500ds the terminals are angled down 45 degrees but the 30001d isn't. Not sure if the 1800d is angled or not but if it is, I'd definitely not get an adapter. Shave that wire down and make it fit. if you have frays, get a utility knife and saw at the frayed wires and you shouldn't have anymore frays. Then electrical tape it if you cut too much wire jacket off so that there is no wire exposed.

think about it, shaving the wire down until it fits tight into the terminal hole will give you the most contact area all the way around the wire. That is the best way to do it. If your amp isn't flopping around and you don't have anything else flopping around that can pull the wire out then you have nothing to worry about. You can even tie down, with zip tie or clamp, the wire near the amp so that the point right after the tie down to the amp cannot move at all.

If you insert your wire into the terminal correctly it shouldn't be visible //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Shaving isn't as bad as you're making it out to be. after you're done cutting off the strands to make it fit in the 4ga input, some properly placed heat shrink will make it look just fine. place about 2 inches of heat shrink with about a 1/4 inch margin overhanging the end of the insulation (if that makes sense). then shrink it and it will cover up the exposed strands just fine. no one will be able to tell.

and plus, it should ALWAYS be functionality > looks. The amp will work better with direct wire input.

Why is the most logical solution being refuted in this thread?!?

Trim your wires down till the fit and be done with it. Nothing "g-h-e-t-t-o" about it. Infact those adapters just make you look stupid "I bought the wrong wires....so I bought another device to make it fit...*fist pump*"
