i use the adapters, and its not because i'm too stupid to buy the right wire, it's because i'd rather run 0 rather than 4awg. they work good, the connection is tight as hell on them, they have the flattened off side and you can screw them into the terminal tighter than i've ever screwed an exposed wire in. well worth the money, imo
