Alright, I'm confused. Help please? Wiring a deck

Just bought a Dual XDM6400 and tried wiring it up. My car was broken into and the wires were kinda messy. Dude at the store said to hard-wire it so I didn't get any harnesses. Looking at the wiring info in the deck manual, it says the yellow wire is "memory" and to connect to constant 12v source, the red is "accessory" and to connect to an existing ignition circuit or switched 12v source, and of course black is ground. Looking at my repair manual for my 1978 Buick Electra, it says orange is the constant 12v and yellow is the switched 12v. So I connected it like this:

Deck ==> Car

Yellow ==> Orange

Red ==> Yellow

Black ==> Black

I have yet to connect any of the other wires (remote turn-on and the speaker/pre-amp wires). Initially, the only loose black wire I saw had a ringed connector at the end of it, so I snipped that off and wired everything up. Turned the car over and no response from the deck. Tried another black/ground wire off of a disconnected harness of some sort and still no response from the deck. I'm at a loss, is there something I am missing? Shouldn't it power on at this point? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

if it was broken into, there's a good chance a fuse was blown so id start there
I just finished messing around in there and found that the fuse in the radio spot in the fuse block is a 20a fuse in a 10a spot. Checked out the wire from start to finish and it appears to be fine, no melting or anything so I'll replace the fuse in a minute or two. I also broke out my multimeter and the orange wire coming out of the car is definitely always hot, but the yellow one is not hot... ever. Not in off, acc, or run. There were some other wires in there that I tested but none fit the bill of only hot in acc and run. Where should I go from here? Thanks for the response. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Doh, I feel like the biggest spazz. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif Pulled the 20a fuse and replaced it with a 10a. Noticed that the 20a had the tiniest little break in the circuit. It was basically a hairline crack, no big gap, no black/brown spot, nothing. Replaced it and everything went smoothly. Thanks for the help! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
