CCA vs Copper speaker wire

The Welding wire is 2/0 and the audio is 1/0... They are the same size
have you measured the circular mill? just becasue the dismeter inside the insulator is the same dont mean the compression is the same. one wire has to pass crush proof test the other doesn't. you really dont know untill you skin it back and measure the actual conductor diameter. the welding wire will have a much better insulator as well making it able to handle more current for a given size..

The 2/0 welding wire fits perfect into 1/0 car audio lugs. But I still buy tinned copper welding 2/0 lugs

you also have to realize those amps arent built in america and alot of that wire isnt as well.. Im not knocking you im just stating the facts.

seriously look ove that site i posted just alittle. i had to remember alot of that ****.. crazy **** like if the ambeniant tempature is over 85 degrees i need to step the wire one size up. calculate voltage drop over distance for current carring conductor fill rates of conduits its a ******* mess. now i just more so wire and calabrate ****. still alot to remember but being a master electrician is every bit as much if not MORE than being an electrical engineer.

you know CCA is copper coated aluminum correct? i dont suggest aluminum wire and you better make **** sure that if you do you use the correct connectors for aluminum.

tinned copper has about 15% lower ampacity rating. alot of those companies dont have to abide by the NEC standars set in place. They can say its a tinned coating but truth is it could be bronzed with aluminum coating. alot of companies ie cheat and steal to make it. when it comes to electrical ESP the high powered situations find stuff that abides by the NEC standards and meets code. its there for a really good reason. 1 protection 2 reliability.
Yes I'm well aware of what it is... And crimp supply is a welding supply company and the lugs I have are indeed copper would set one of fire to show its copper by the color it's putting off

cool. i just dont want peeps to buy JUNK. i hate the fact the market is flooded with junk. thank god its only 12 volta electrical because any higher voltage can start to become very dangerious.I've work on ofshore platforms where your surrounded by water that you have a 5% survival rate if exposed to it in a emergency situation without the proper PPE.

anyways we typically use pure copper in sealed devices(they have to be sealed in most areas incase of a gas leak or exposure) but when something is expernal unsealed we will use the tinned platered copper wire, just trypically increase one size of the wire to compensate for the lower ampicity ratings..

go ofc over cca. just by switching to ofc on my big (i had cca before) i noticed a difference. the bass sounded better, like clean and crisp!! lows were smooth and moved plenty air.. and the high were brutal. notes as low as 18 hz don't sound distorted anymore, **** sounds clean now.
