Well I ain't gonna start "updating" this post...But I think you bring up a perfect Example..I was there that night and "I" also posted some stuff about "HARDROCKFAN"..he was stupid, definetle deserved a scolding, maybe a butt kicking..but look at a couple of the replies already about this topic..there is this underlying tone of "WELL THATS ALL GOOD DEPRESSION, BUT IF SOMEONE MESSES UP ON "MY" FORUM I AM GOING TO REGULATE"..Nope..it ain't your forum and you are neither admin or the moderator..So you can't claim this site as your street corner.I agree with all of the stuff you guys are saying..but look at the "disagreement" not about Newbies or"posting" threats..You are getting mad because someone might be challenging or questioning your "thug" forum style and ability to start drama which is probably the main incentive for you to solicit this forum

I mean come on..you really think a NEWBIE is aware initially that he could use the SEARCH??? They don't know any better..THEY ARE NEWBIES!!!!

if a veteran member posts a stupid question or common question..THEN off course you can write a post trashing them and reminding them they should know better...

I am sure you live for that...the bashing and threatening Posts telling someone to get off your site and everyone to OBEY your rules..

I think a key point in my long post was the HYPOCRITE part....It's a double standard to bash some for doing the same crap you do..I have seen it. All you are saying is you want to Reserve the right to try and talk smack, Tell people what "your" rules of posting are and act like the "king" of the Forum.which was my point exacltly

In fact my drama last week was Exactly that..So when I got all those PM's it became clear people saw I may have crossed a line..but I was facing up against some on this forum who make this forum unpleasent and use the keyboard to intimidate others and thier forum sidekicks to back them up...It's the new age of the INTERNET COMMUNITY..too many of us know **** well we will never meet the people we trash Face to face..and that is the biggest incentive for them to post nonsense to others, and posting thrats and wise *** remarks is a pure indictment of issues this person has socially..and they take it out on people who honestly just want audio advice...and the common answer is

STFU...it's fun right??WWEEEEEEEEE!!!

You didn't quote anyone, so I'm not sure who the "you" you speak of is.

Anyways, just because people are newbies HERE does not mean that they have never used the intarweb before. Not searching and asking dumb questions gets you flamed just about everywhere. So now you've narrowed it down to picking on people that are new to the forum, new to the internet, and new to the world of car audio ? That's probably, one or two people out of the crowd that come here ?

yeah, this is true in almost all forums i've ever spent time reading or joined into, not just car audio.

if you join a car forum (muscle mustang or 3rd gen...) and ask a generic question you will either be utterly ignored or owned. Particularly in older car forums because the car itself has been around a few decades.... at this point there are not very many new question.... some forums are more archives then anything else. Albeit, with a lounge.

u know what's funny? i've been in and outof this forum for about 3 years..hell i was still in my 20's when i registered....and this same thing goes on about every 6 months or so...

steve, remember when there wasn't a single mod? admin said this was a self-moderated forum...said it was working out just fine....now we have moderators and guess what? things haven't really changed, toned down some yeah...changed? no.

and it isn't going to. why? most have already answered that question, keyboard commando's. it's just too easy to type in words and not be responsible for them. hey steve, remember when we (maybe not you, i can't remember) all went over and shut efi.com down? even some extremely respected members here were involved. it was fun and yep it was childish. but it was done with little fear of being "caught". yeah, they came over here and ssa, flamed a few of us and then it was over...the loser? the ppl paying for the bandwidth. no one else...

which leads me to the noobs....

u know what really bugs me? "use the search feature and quit asking hte same question!!!!"' guess what genius's? ever question asked is just about the exact same question asked before it.

which sub is better? how will this sub sound in this box? what would u do for componets? have u listened to this sub yet? my **** sub just blew, will this sub last longer? ported or sealed? silk or metallic?...

i just asked the exact same questions..only worded it differently. which are the noob questions? which are avid questions? WHO CARES??? either answer the question or don't....someone put it alot better then i just did a little earlier in this thread. but u don't have to be an *** and say "use the search button!"

without those questions what would we talk about? what would be the point of this forum? or the hundreds others just like it?

as to post whoring...so what? if it's not messing up a thread...go ahead. only idiots care about post count anyway..what, first one to 15,000 posts gets what? nada, zip, zilch and zero!! (watch that change now..lol) i have been here three years and barely have 1200 posts....and? so i'm an idiot? i don't know anything? nah, it's becuz i left for awhile when everyone got on their high horses and starting spouting off at the mouth...i mean both goody-to -shoes and keyboard commando's....

u know the best cliche in the world? live and let live. i post *****, but i don't degrade ppl who do. i flame and don't put down those who do, or at least i try my best not too. i'm not perfect , in fact far from it. matter of fact, i was demoted from being a moderator at another forum for having these exact same views..and they had a forum just for flaming!! but other mods felt they should be above flaming, while i said to hell with it, i can defend myself if i have too. i am nor ever was above anyone.

in short (yeah right), the forum rules should be this...

1) this forum is free, hence noone can or will tell you what you can ask. ask away!

2) post whoring is welcome, the advertisers love the traffic

3) flame at your own risk, as fire as a way of finding it's way back home

4) if a topic gets too outa hand, moderators will delete posts. and when questioned, those posts will be deleted..PERIOD. the persons involved will then get PM'd with instructions on how to carry on with discussion/ arguement.

5) come in, sit down, fire away and have fun!

6) most importantly, jmac will keep pictures of his *** to himself!!(mattj's ain't any better!)

7) last but not least,,it's all about having fun WHILE learning, so remember this..

THATS FUNNY..Did you guys see the new guy who posted a question about SOUND DAMPNER..sure enough we have been discussing Sound deadener for 2 weeks straight and he should have searched..but see..he did not know any better..but was scared to post the question..atleast the guys are giving him some slack...just a funny coincidence!!!...It happens all the time
