You guys are being too hard on the W7. It's not the best, but it's a good sub. WAY overpriced, though. I'd compare it to the JBL WGTI series but at a higher price. Overhung but otherwise pretty good.

Really this thread should be stickied because this is probalby the most common question on audio forums. Some noob thinks the W7 is the end all/be all of subs and wants to know what to do with it...then instead of just answering the question all the gurus on the forum will tell him how many better things he can buy for the money, then the standard my e-penor is bigger than your e-penor debate ensues. In this particular case insulting the guys English....it may not even be his first language (I hope).

Asking about a W7 is probably the best way to start a troll thread on an audio board really.

TO actually answer OP's question, the JL 1000/1 is a good match for the 13W7....really about the only good match for a single W7 because of the unusual impedence load. If you've got the money and like JL that much buy their amp. There's a guy around here that does mid 140's with a single W7 off a 1000/1 and it sounds pretty good.
