Butt connectors for sub woofer speaker wire?

I currently have my sub box running 12G wire directly out of the sub box without a terminal cup and then direct to the sub amp. However, it is a pain to have to remove the wires from the amp if I have to remove the subbox. If I use butt connectors as quick disconnects will I be hurting the connection? As butt connectors are not as thick as 12G wire? I would use those yellow plastic ones that are meant for 12G wire. Thanks.

I've seen a few setups like this even seen a 12w7 with a 1000/1 with butt connectors i dont think you'll notice any difference vs having it wired straight from the amp to the sub

Is you amp bolted to the sub box? if not, why not just use a longer piece of speaker wire than you need making it easier to acess the amp.......? Male/female connectors won't hurt anything...

butt connectors can not be used as quick dissconnect, you will need bullet, or spade male and female terminals for quick connecting and discconecting. butt connectors your going to have to cut the wires to take them off and re-crimp new connectors to connect them again
