big 3 blown fuse question

Im in the process of doing the big three and last night I only had time to do the alt to battery positive wire. So I fused it and made sure the new wire parts were not grinding on anything. Then I hooked it to my new yellowtop I just put in. Fired it up just to make sure it worked and everything was fine and normal.

Then today I left for work and right away I had problems where it felt like it was about to stall so I turned around, parked in my driveway and noticed my 250 amp fuse was blown. I know the fuse was fine after I fired it up last night.

So right now Im at work(borrowed moms car) and I plan to just take that wire I put in out and hook up the old one but im still wondering what the problem was?

Do you think The fuse is to small at 250 and thats why it blew? I didnt think theres anyway more than that would be going through my alt with only my component amp hooked up.

Or maybe once the car and engine got moving the new knu wire(lol) bump metal and shorted and blew the fuse?

250 is fine for that wire, hmm... did you remove the factory wiring and just install the 1/0? maybe the factory lead goes through the fuse box and your car needs that hooked up also?

NEVER remove the factory wire.

When doing the Big3, you always ADD to the existing factory wires.

x2, so make sure you just added on, and double check and make sure that nothing can touch a ground or any other bare metal.

No the factory wiring is still there however I put on a new bat terminal and it was kind of hard to fit in all the wiring so its not at its best connection abilities.

And also The BS knu bat terminals do not fit knuconceptz 1/0 wire.......so its jammed in there but a real tight fit

I just looked under the hood and my alt to battery cable was melted to the engine LOL!

I have to wait for light in the morning to mess with it but hopefully my alternator isn't broken from this NO LOL!

well I tried 2 different batteries and they wont charge in my truck. Is there a way to tell with a multimeter if the alternator is broken?

?? i have knu 1/0 wire in my knu batt terminal?? did you put the wire in wire loom?

check and make sure first your car has 14.4 v when it is turned on

how do I do that and this was kollosis wire i guess you could say it fits but it takes extreme effort.
