Sh*t... it's 110 outside with 20% humidity that's rising... I'm doin' all the pre-drilling now but it is one break after another... LOL!... I'm actually tryin' to get really annoyed...
I'm toying with the Idea of building a 3 pc removable partition/wall above the current amp rack to minimize cabin volume... It looks like all I'll have to do make the ends/uprights solid and use 1 large panel in the center... will this change cabin resonance a lot?.. the current setup will make this easy as the amp rack is full width and 21" max from the ceiling... I'll place the new box on the folded down back seats and make sure the new box is 5-6" away from the new "back wall"... does this sound like it'll work to get even louder?.. I took a look and It'll shrink the cabin volume by at least roughly 35 ft3... 3 easily removable pieces for daily and if I want to get loud... put em' in and put the box in the new "rear area" in a smaller cabin... that amp rack/wall will be really solid and only add 30 lb or less... Thoughts?
I see no merit in doing that. Any org would classify that as a wall as they have a minimum clearance rule from roof to be non walled... and, im not even sure if it would be louder.
Well OK... It WAS just a thought... I'll swap subs into the new box tonight and meter it tomorrow probably... thanks to all who've helped with advice...
You know... I'm going to have to remove the daily box... the 47 hz tuned one will not fit on top of the daily one with any real clearance to the roof (3") and I really don't want to put it on top of the rear seats folded down... something tells me that being in the middle of the Blazer is NOT ideal... good call...
Oh... you mean the spool under the box... hahaha... that had 3000 lb of sheet metal wrapped around it used for fabricating HVAC vents for trailer homes... makes a nice workbench...
Thanks man... I try, although I do have an extensive woodworking history... I've learned to use Winisd, Torres and a lot more by just sitting back... only commenting, not trying to give advice and watching threads for pertinent subjects... I DO ask when unsure about something... LOL!.. and there are some great people on here that give advice... Thanks to everyone who has put up with my seemingly incessant questioning... I think this box just might serve it's purpose well...
