did you have your gain and bass boost all the way up? if you did then THAT is your problem, someone has asked you and you haven't answered... i've had this problem before and found out the hard way, it was a lanzar amp, one of those cheap purple vibe ones, and two w3's, the amp was rated for 600 at 2 ohms and the subs were rated for 300-500 rms so i figured i'd be good, well i turned up the gain to MY listening preferences, again this was 3 or 4 years ago, well the gain all the way up didn't cut it for me so i cranked up the bass boost, guess what happened? blew BOTH subs that would take about 800 rms combined... so let me ask you, is your gain and bass boost cranked up??if i have a 300 wat rms amp and a 1500 wat rms sub how can i be burning the sub up i dont get itwhat if i got a smaller amp i dont need to have a lot
You're more likely to blow a sub from under powering it than over powering it. How fast are you cooking these subs? Does your amp have an input sensitivity switch? If it does and it's not set properly then you'll fry the coils in as fast as minutes.if i have a 300 wat rms amp and a 1500 wat rms sub how can i be burning the sub up i dont get itwhat if i got a smaller amp i dont need to have a lot
