Cut the edge down and work your way to the end, cut like shown

Doing the sides there are a few methods,

for this one I chose the 4 triangles method

Best adhesive for carpeting boxes. Cheap and very sticky

Wrap down port side first and back wall side last. (just the two sides right now)

Push down on the edges again to make sure you have a good contact=

Cut away the extra carpet from the top and bottom piece and then make 2 cuts, corner 2 corner on both sides with the wood piece for accuracy

And peel away, should look something like this

Now work your way to do the other corners

And tada!

Cutting out the sub hole and port is very easy.
