We are starting a build on a Crown Vic with donated product from JVC, MTX, and Stinger. We aren't getting too extravagant with it just a little basic glass work to give the car a fancier look while staying mostly stock.

This old police car will be a give-a-way to a random lucky person who is sporting a Good Vibrations sticker on their car.

Sorry for the poor pics, all i have is my Blackberry

Here's what we got to work with.

Nothing to special.

Had to start out with the basics

IMG00070.jpg

Door panels, dont you just hate the Ford 6x8's?

IMG00071.jpg

Ran some wires for the amps

IMG00067.jpg

More wires.

Now on to some glass.

The box will hold two 12" MTX 55's ported.

Framework

Wettin in out.

Sorry no glassing pics, we did all the glass work on the inside to keep the flow of the box as nice as possible.

Test fitting.

Roughing it up for some body filler

IMG00105.jpg

Couple coats of filler, gettin all the highs and lows even.

IMG00101.jpg

IMG00102.jpg

Threw on some white paint to see how its going to look.

IMG00110.jpg

IMG00107.jpg

Finished up the box, now onto the rest of the trunk.

Added some side panels and painted it all up to match the box.

We might end up getting some plexi here soon and possibly etching in the amp windows with our Logo.

Now onto some tweeter pods in the pillars

IMG00082.jpg

The drivers side already had a hole in it from the cop search light

IMG00083.jpg

Just matched em' up

IMG00092.jpg

IMG00090.jpg

IMG00091.jpg

Got some PVC collars to fit in the tweets

IMG00081.jpg

Figuring out positioning

IMG00097.jpg

Stretched it with some fleece

IMG000962.jpg

Making sure everything lines up nice

IMG00099.jpg

IMG00100.jpg

Wet out with some resin

IMG00103.jpg

Sanded out and decided to give it a few more layers of resin

Well that's all i have for now, check back by for more updates.

We should be getting the Vinyl for the tweet pods in on friday and the JVC Kameleon deck in soon also.

Thanks,

~Jake

a question do ppl who build boxes here ever put terminals on their box? just wondering cuz all the boxes i've seen always have wires hanging out of the ports or a small hole drilled out of the side of the box and wires stuffed thru... but the box looks great! nice work. What are your plans for the tweets? also how are you going to cover them? or are you sanding them down and filler with some paint?

Terminals are just personal preference really. And I'm coving the tweets with grey vinyl to match the car

How do you go about finding the volume and tuning of that box? I've always wondered. I know with a sealed glass enclosure it's not as big of a deal. Or with aero-ports, you can atleast remove and tweak to get the tuning. Curious how you went about finding the internal volume and end tuning. Looks good though.

wheels look ugly as fuk
Yea they were donated to us, really didnt have a choice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

with slot ports you have to somewhat guess at first then you fill it with packaging peanuts after you throw on the fleece and figure out its volume and what its tuned at and if it isnt a decent tuning you have to extend the sub rings out more/less depending how you want it tuned.

What tweeters are you putting in your a-pillars?
JVC Arsenal 6 1/2 components

Hey, pop your back seat out. I heard these ex cop cars have drugs n shit under there a lot of times. lol
Haha yea all the druggies tucking the drugs in there so they dont get caught, thats the first thing i did when we got the car and all i found was a lighter lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

terminals are a personal preference? i consider having a terminal to make it look clean. i just think that if you have a sealed box and you drill a hole and shove wire thru it it looks like crap and isn't a sealed box... and with slot ported boxes i've seen drilled holes or wire thru the slot... is terminals not a common use? i personally use a terminal that is a screw in terminal with a thin sealer ring of insulation and its also set once heated to adhear to the box. awesome stuff from valcano audio products awesome guys to deal with and they hooked me up for 20 terminals a very good cheap deal at only 50 bucks. shipped http://volcanoloudspeakers.com/default3.htm

yea exactly, that is your personal preference, mine is too put the wire through the back and seal it with silicone. if no one is going to see the back then why waste the $5 or so for a terminal? just my theory
