Budget SQ Building - Help Please?

Do you have a build thread, pictures, or a list of components you used?
I used mismatched equipment, at the time I used H audio souls for my mids, Morel mdt 12 tweeters, polk audio pa amps for the highs and a pg xenon 600.1 for the subs. The subs were old crunch subs in a push pull style sealed box. The head unit was an 80prs.

Install install install, lol. You know what your doing though Geoff. I think I am gonna come hang out in Florence with ya on the 19th. Still trying to find a way to get my old lady off work to keep the kids, while I am up there with ya'll banging fat chicks.
Sweet deal! lol keep me updated, do you have my cell # still?

I've been told to go with Morel components, and now I know why! haha

Question though... What is a push pull sealed box?

Morel is alright lol. The tweeters were quite a bit more dull than I wanted, but it was all I could get in my price range that would fit the way I needed them to fit.

Two subs in a sealed enclosure wired inversely so they are working with each other, one goes in at the time the other goes out.

Yep, if it's still the number that ends in 83. And I have a guest room now, so if you wanted a place to stay instead of a hotel room, let me know!
That's it. I think we are going to stay up in TN with a family friend lol. I appreciate the offer though man =]

So one sub is 180 degrees out of phase with the other? Could that be achieved with one mounted with the magnet inside the box and the other with the magnet outside, but in phase?

Yes. That is common for home enclosures like this.

Well, I'm not looking for competition status, It's more of better than most daily driver sound quality that I'm going for. Since I'm not a basshead, I'd rather have a nice clear sounding system with a flat response and the best quality within the restraints of my budget. Right now, the sound is good from what I've done so far. I want better than good though.
Well you should find a top level installer and let them tune your system... And pick out some gear maybe.. There's a lot more than just buying stuff and installing it

I understand this. I honestly think that I could tune my system pretty well though by ear. Not to toot my own horn, but I have a great ear for detail, as I've been playing guitar all my life, as well as trumpet, piano, and being part of an eastern conference winning choir... I really like music. Now, maybe I don't have experience like they do, but unless a tuner could tailor it to what my ear wants, I'd rather do it alone.

I am, however, open to all suggestions as far as equipment and installation methods. I'm trying to relay to you guys, who know more than me about this equipment, what I am looking for so that you guys can steer me into the right direction.

I love midbass. I love crisp, clear highs that project from the front, with a clear ambient mid/low combination behind it, but I want the ability to have that, but still at higher volumes as well. The single sub will simply fill in the low that is lacking from the speakers. I feel like I've thought it out and tailored it close to what I want, but I don't know components or, "the best ways to mount this," or, "be sure that you do this," or even, "the speakers you've chosen are all wrong, here's some suggestions."

Thank you for the reply. I just need guidance, as I haven't been much of a car audio guy until the past 6-10 months.

Its sounds like your wanting a sq sounding car.. I myself enjoy music, good sounding music that is. Lol

First time I heard a "real" sq and tuned car I was blown away how great the sound was!!! See if anybody in your area has a sq car that you could listen to.
