Brother froze sub...what to get?

Hey guys whats up? Well i just got home on vacation from AZ...anyways i lent my bro my bmw and i come home just 30 min ago to find my ****ing subwoofer froze...and he also broke a few other things...A$$HOLE...anyways i had a id12 d2 v.3 Im not looking to spend much more that what that cost...lookin for less than 200...I like the sq of that sub...want something a little louder but I only have a Soundstream xta300.2 .....help is greatly appreciated as i have no woofer now! Thank so much!

if you put it in a semi large enclousure im sure your amp would get it moving fairly well.

well thats the thing, I built a fiberglass enclosure for the one i have now and it doesnt have much more room behind it for a bigger sub... would the IdQ sound better or louder than mine?

with only 300w to a sub looking into a IDMAX is stupid IMO. for 300watts and a single 12" i'd looking into something like an Ascendant Audio AVA 12", Resonant's Re sub, or another IdQ.

ya i think it would be stuipid too...i dont have an IDQ right now..i have the ID..the step below it. I like the sound quality of the ID but i want something with a little more output.

how and what the hell is a frozen sub? I think he means his brother blew his subwoofer and so the voice coils are just all ripped and tangled everywhere.

If you melt them down bad enough they will seize in the gap. I suspect that his brother is either retarded or did it on purpose because you really need to crank things up to do that.
