I was listening to my 6x9's today and the bass on certain CD's seems "thuddy". When some low bass notes happen there's sometimes a thud. but this only happens on certain CD's. could this be a sign of the speakers being blown? I'd appreciate any input you guys got. thanx.

Nick

bottoming out, you mean they're trying to play a note but can't? if so then how do you fix something like that? I was hearing something about "bass blockers" could that help me? if not do I need another set of speakers? write back anything you guys think, any advice right now is good advice. thanx.

Nick

Bass blockers should help the problem a bit. You can also just use micro caps as they will have the same effect. If I recall- about 600mFarad will produce a cuttoff point arround 100Hz. That should be all you need to keep your 6x9's playing more midbass than actual bass.

take it easy,
