Best amp for L7???

I am looking at amps for around $250 - $275. I am thinking about the JBL 1200.1 any suggestions for a single 12" kicker L7?

Honestly, if you end up putting it in a ported box, you wouldn't even need the 1200.1...if I were you I'd just get the 600.1 for $200. Considering the power handling of a sub decreases slightly when it's in a ported box, that amp's 600 watts should match up perfectly with the L7.

i got that sub and the 1200.1 for it

didnt hook it up yet though

i am running it at 4 ohms so it might see 600W or more...i hope

i plan to add another sub

and i am using a kicker x3i xover with subsonic filter

cant wait to hear it

niceee tell me how it sounds.... I'm thinking of going for practically the same setup....

but might have to settle for L5 since i can't spend all my money on this car audio stuff..

why should he go for the L7???

i still have yet to figure out why people choose the L7 over the L5 when both subs have the same magnet

L7 can take 150-200 watts more then the L5

I've heard that the Square Kickers (L7) will wear out quickly that the edges get soft and the SQ decreases greatly after only a couple of months of use. How much of this is true? Thats part of the reason why I went with Alpine instead of Kicker.

I think I read that on one of the Reviews on this site. Thanks for the Info. Jmac do you recommend them? Are they more SPL or SQ if you put them in a dual slot ported box?

more SPL if ported, but they will still sound pretty good.

l7 sounds better/ looks better. i'm not sure about that..

seems like the l7 can handle more watts only b/c the cooling tech. is a little different and the actual frame is somewhat larger..

so basically you're paying a big difference in price b/c 1 sub can handle more watts b/c the frame and cooling tech is somewhat different.. otherwise they both sound the same...

so, the real question is, i suppose.. is that sub worth that much difference in price for that little difference in performance????????????????????????? i think not although i heard 2 l710s seald and 1 l5 ported (that's my experience w/kickers L series)

What does the subsonic filter do, will it make a difference with one L7 and a 1200.1
