===Beerdrnkr's First Build Log (OLDSCHOOL)===

I got some sound deadening in and deadened the rear door w/ Raammat and Ensolite. Great products and Rick is a really good guy to deal with. I installed the PPI 21400.2 to my midbass and the PPI 4800.2 to my midrange and tweeters just to test them out and have something to listen to for now.

My H701/C701 combo arrived today but I'm not going to be using them w/ the Pioneer. I traded the Pioneer for a W200 but it was sent to Alpine first to have the cd slot fixed, so that should arrive hopefully in a little over a week or so. The guy I traded with sent me some cabling seperately which also arrived today. Now I'm debating if I want to keep the C701 controller w/ the W200 or not.

On another note I have a couple issues, first, my power distro has a digital display and it's not turning on. Do I have to send it a remote wire somewhere? The other issue is that my PPI 21400.2 has a solid red light when on but seems to be working fine other than the fact that the built in xover does not work. Will there be any problems later on? I don't really need the xover once I use the amp for the subs anyway.

I forgot to mention that I will be putting a mount for my zune near the center console and I bought the home a/v kit for the zune and will route the RCA's to the W200 aux inputs so I can watch movies and play music directly from the zune. The home a/v kit also comes with a remote for the zune so that should be pretty useful as well.

Dude.... Where is the Amp rack and the Box? I though you said monday? I can't wait to heard those Kicker!
I know man, I've been wanting to hear them too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Fastimes hadn't gotten back to me til today but now I'm going to San Fran til wednesday so it'll still be another few days before I get it, unless he decides I can pick them up today.

rich bastard
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I don't even have a job man. I'm going to get back most of the money I spent selling the items I decided not to use and my taxes were a big help.

Systems clean highs sound nice! cant wait to see it finished:) and ya that distro block needs a remote wire that had happaned to me before too.
Do you know where the remote wire goes? I didn't see any other spots for it. Thanks man, my frontstage will sound 10x better once I get the H701 in today. Early start for me, but I should have most if not all done today. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Ok, so my install took a full day and I had a few issues but now it's almost perfect. If you recall this was my temporary install just to have some sort of music in my car.

After receiving my W200, as well as my amp rack and box from FASTIMES (good guy by the way), I was all set for a long day of installing.

The amp rack slides out so I can get to the amps and processor a little easier.

The 4th (smallest amp) PPI amp isn't hooked up yet because I don't have any plugs for it but I'm thinking about maybe using is (50wrms x 2) for some rear fill that I'd run off the H701 center ch. for some rear fill and maybe I can T/A them towards the front to make it sound a little fuller.

I was finally able to get the voltage meter to work as well, I found where I was supposed to ground it.

Some problems I had were bad RCA's, the stock power from the cars harness has no power for some reason and there's no blown fuses (?) so my friend Christian (Zeusilicious) came over around 12 at night to help me out. We couldn't figure it out so we ran the HU directly to the battery, I just have to turn the HU off manually when I turn off the car. I didn't wire my 12volt stock wire which controls an led clock, temp, and miles per gallon display because it stayed on and I didn't want to risk draining on the battery, it's not a big deal but I'm going to get it fixed.

I didn't show a cool little feature I put in through the AUX input of the HU. I have a place that holds my zune and I ran a zune home a/v cable which will play dvds and music through the HU. The final problem was that the pins on the bottom of the zune where the charger goes, were bent and now I need to have it replaced, so all my music and movies will be gone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Thats a shit load of wiring, but nice job making it lookclean. Now i want to hear it:)
Yeah man, not a fun job at all. Definately worth it in the end though.

My final impressions:

It's the cleanest sounding system I've ever had, the bass is very tight and accurate and I can get pretty **** loud in it. I wish I could throw another 21400.2 to the subs cuz they aren't even breaking a sweat. After just a little bit of tuning my system sounds awesome and it's exactly the type of sound I've been looking for. I won't be changing setups for a long time.....atleast a couple of months //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
