===Beerdrnkr's First Build Log (OLDSCHOOL)===

I want to do a 3-way up front someday... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

...then again who doesn't?? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

So I got completely rid of my last setup and the only items I have from it are the 2 Solo's. I wanted to do somewhat of a budget build this time around but I also wanted to get louder doing it while keeping my 3way active frontstage (I'm never going back to 2way or passives again). So here's the list of items I have going in:

I'll start at the receiver: Kenwood DPX503 http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DPX503/Kenwood-DPX503.html?search=Kenwood+VENDORID113&searchdisplay=Kenwood&tp=5684 I didn't want a screen in the dash again and I wanted a somewhat stock look with decent processing including T/A and easy hookups for my zune or my 4gb thumb drive. You can pick these up brand new from ebay for about $215 or so. I'll give a more in depth review of this HU tomorrow along with pics.

Active 3way Frontstage:

Dayton RS225-4 8" Reference Midbass Woofers in the doors. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-376

Dayton RS150-4 6" Reference Woofers in kick panels for my midrange. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-372

2 pairs of Dayton ND28F-6 1-1/8" Neodymium Dome Tweeters in the a-pillars. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=275-040

Coustic XM6 3way xover. http://www.coustic.com/products/processors/CousicXM6Manual.pdf

Substage: 3 RE SE 12's in a 6c/ft box tuned to 33hz subs up ports up. Firing back is louder but also causes a lot of rattling even with all the deadening I've used. Picked them up for some pretty good prices here on the forums.

The Power: 2 JBL GTO1004 4ch. amps. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12244_JBL+GTO1004.html 1 for the mids and tweets and the other bridged to the midbass. Hopefully one of those Audiopipe 3000's in the classifieds are still available next week so I can pick one up.

For my electrical, I have the big 3, stock 110a alternator, and a large C&D Technologies battery in the rear.

Here's a few pics to get this started:

I only have the 6's and 8's running right now temporarily so I have music in my car. I must say the Dayton 6's and 8's alone right now, sound GREAT! I currently have the 8's playing 40hz - 200hz and the 6's full range from 180hz up.

nice looking build dude it looks like its gonna be loud as a mother f.ucker
Thanks man, I'm hoping to be at around 142db - 145db on music. I'll get some more pics up in a few.

I have the 2 amps hooked up temporarily just to have some tunes in my car. One amp is hooked up to the 8's bridged at the moment and the other amp is running the 6's but it's not bridged. I don't have the xover in yet to hook up the tweeters. My first impressions of the Daytons are that they sound AWESOME! I have the 8's running 40hz- 200hz and the 6's running full range from 180hz up. It sounds really good the way it is now and hopefully when I add the tweeters it'll help out the top end some.
