===Beerdrnkr's First Build Log (OLDSCHOOL)===

Any updates bro?
Focal mids were sent today and then I get to figure out how to make them fit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Fastimes is still working on the amp rack and box, then I'll be able to start on the install //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

A small update on the build. I got in my Focal 8's yesterday and after trying to figure out how the hell I was going to install them I went to work. The original door openings were for a 5 1/4" speaker and I have decent room in the door panel itself so I figured I could just cut the sheet metal with a skill saw and then mount a baffle. After a few fitment issues I had to use a dremmel to cut out a few little plastic pieces in the door panel that were in the way. I have 1/2 a roll of Raammat and about 5yrds. of Ensolite coming in so I can do some more deadening although right now I don't have any rattles at all. I hooked up the PPI 2400.2 which is 100wrms x 2 to the focals just so I can test them out. I might get another PPI amp soon to throw some real power to them although they do sound awesome right now and get plenty loud.

so...tell me how ur runnin 3way active? pioneer - rear = midbass ..RF 360 front = tweet rear=midrange?
I'm still not positive on how I want to wire everything yet but I think it'll be the tweeters, midrange, and sub off the 3sixty and the midbass from the Pioneer. I've spent hours tuning when I only had the Pioneer unit, I can only imagine how long tuning is going to take me when I'm done. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Sounds like this is going to be a nice.On board for the build.

Good job on those doors!
I like the equipment.
I'm interested to see how those oldschool subs stack up against todays monsters.I remember thinking that those solobarics were massive when they came out
Thanks guys. I'm interested to see how a lot of this old school gear does compared to all the newer gear I've been using. I might install the 3sixty.2 today just to play around with it and get some initial tuning done before I install the box and amp rack when those get done. I think I can store the settings.

Sweet man, can't wait.

Another little update, I decided to go with the H701 processor and as soon as that comes in I'll use that w/ the pioneer unit and C701 controller. If my 3sixty.2 and Pioneer sell soon I'll buy an Alpine W205 double din HU and sell the controller as well. So many toys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
