BC3500D Gain Clipping Indicator

I asked about my DC one, which I don't think the BC's would be far off from, and it was said that the knob's light comes on before actual clipping, but just slightly. If you go by that and never run it to where the clipping light is on on the knob, I can guarantee you won't toast a sub from clipping. Atleast that's how it was with my DC 2.0k, never once smelt coils. I don't think you'll get full power out of the amp, but you won't clip.

ok.... i have mine and it has yet to just stay on. it flicks every now and then but never a constant light. so i guess im pretty good then.

AQ one was tested against an oscope on one of the forums, was pretty much spot on. Probably safe to "assume" that all of them are pretty accurate. Flickering is fine and ocassional periods of solid red even, at least in the set ups I've done.

up top.... trying to get some info from people who actually know about these clipping indicators.

i got my bc 3500 back and hooked up. my flickers every now and then but it doesnt do a solid red light or nothing

It will not do a solid red because the music is dynamic unless you have the gain and volume extremely far up or also if using sine wave test tones...

mine just kind of flickers alittle, never really coming all the way on its kind of a faint blink.

i dont have it at very high volume or nothing.
