Bad luck with my love for bass. Any help please?

So since spring break has begun, I decided to finally figure why my amp stopped working about 5 months ago. After a few days of messing around with it and getting nowhere, I decided yesterday to go to a shop to figure out the problem. My amp fried and I needed a new one. They installed a new one and on my way home I enjoyed the bass that I'd missed for so long. Then it stopped working as soon as I pulled in my driveway. No big deal, I thought. I went back to the shop today to figure out the speaker wires behind my head unit came loose. For about ten minutes I was in bass heaven; then it stopped again. This time, the red status light started coming on whenever my volume went above 15. The bass would play up until I passed that point. Now at home again, I'm trying to figure out what's wrong and why god doesn't want me to bump down the streets. Maybe it's because I've used my system to force people to speed up in the past. Anyway, the rca's are fine since it's playing at low volumes. The amp is being input almost 14 volts, so it isn't an issue there. On the powerbass site it says the status light comes on when its overheated, nor getting enough volts, or something else I forget. Any ideas what the problem could be before I go back to the shop again tomorrow?

Note: when the status light comes on after vomune 15 the amp stops powering the subs, but is if e from volume 15 and below (not normal listening volume)

What sub/s do you have and what amp? you sub wiring mab be wired to a too low of a impedance for you amp man...

I agree, you probably have a 2ohm stable amp, but your sub is probably wired to 1ohm

I have two Pioneer TS-W254R 10" Subwoofers . My amp is a Powerbass ASA series amp. I'm not sure what the exact model is sorry.
ya,thats your problem, when you go back to the shop, tell them that you need the subs rewired to 4ohm instead of 1ohm. downside is you won't be getting as much power to them, but they will sound cleaner at 4ohm

is your amp a mono? because your subs are 4 ohms a piece so best wired to a 2 ohm load, im pretty sure a mono will play with ease at 2 ohms, im guessing you amp is a 2 channel, if it is then that's your problem, that's IF your subs are being played through a bridge connection at 2 ohms...

It's ASA 400.1X. Thanks for letting me know where to find it. Are you sure the ohm wiring would cause the problem I'm having? I don't know to much about ohms so I just want to be positive.

EDIT: It says Mono on the side of the amp. It also says 1ohm stable on the side.

hmm this is interesting, what wiring do you have? this rules out many possibilities now we know its 1 ohm stable...

I got some kit from Walmart over the last summer. 6 gauge power wire and same with the ground I'm pretty sure. Then the remote wire and speaker wires I have no clue. I have a feeling I don't know what you mean exactly, sorry. I'm kind of a noob at this.

EDIT: After going back outside, I saw that it actually says 2ohm stable on the side of my amp, not 1ohm. It's pretty cold out so I kind of quickly skimmed the sides and went back inside.

I was thinking I might need a bigger power wire. My dad says that it doesn't matter considering it's already getting almost 14 volts.
yeah usually when running a mono for bass you would use 4 gauge and bigger, also check your gain, how far is it from being to max?

Could also be a poor connection in your wiring somewhere. It may work at lower volumes, but when you turn it up, maybe it is not getting enough current.
