Audio upgrade opinions for my 2009 GT-R?

that's another reason I'm not a fan of the I'm cleansweep.

It looks like the RF and Alpine models recommend the same thing.

Image Dynamics XS65 midsImage dinamics cde1mh mini horns

IDQ10v3 (only needs .5 airspace)

Arc mini amps (those things are tiny)

If you didn't want to go the horn route, which is the best, then get the XS65 component set.

That is your best bet, that stuff is top of the line.

Go over to imagedynamicsusa.com and join the forum, see what Eric or Matt would suggest.

I love my Image Dynamics CXS64 components. And I am really liking my JL 8W7's, too. Can't go wrong with that solution.

With a car like that, you probably don't want to cut up your doors much. What's the mounting depth of the factory locations? That might have a big factor in your options.

im just curious but why is it that a person can have any brand name thats expensive and not a up and coming company or a 'custom" speaker and its ok but the second you mention JL audio then everyone complains there expensive, if you cant afford it then shut up and if you can and you choose to buy it then buy it simple. its not your money so why does it bother yall? if i see a guy with a lambo, im not gonna say awww man you **** i would have gotten a audio R8 cause its cheaper.... who cares im sure if he can afford a lambo he could buy a R8 but a lambo is what he wants and if Jl is what he wants it shouldnt matter to anyone but him

i would run those jl hd amps as you mentioned. (they are sexy and very nice)

run a set of Image dynamics xs65 comps (active if possible) people on here can help with that

get an Image dynamics IDQ. they sound awesome and are very light.

and for head unit depending on what you want i would go with Eclipse or Alpine

oh and for some sound deadener get some second skin (as needed)

Monster car! If you can wait get the new Focal 165 KRX2 for the front stage when it comes out 2009 not sure what month though.

my i sudjest some amps to look at: DLS, Genesis both these companies make a nice dual mono block. also sinfoni, brax, mcintosh, tru technologies, helix, audison, zapco. these are the high end amp manufactures. you cannot go wrong here. personally i am going to be running dls amps, because their build quality is great yet the price isnt as much as some of the other high end amps.

as far as component speakers go, dyn audio has great all around sets. you would be looking at $700 up for a dyn component set. rainbow like the others said. the list goes on

Man your driving a GTR. Go with a quality sound system.

Go with Audison Amplifires or the Hertz Amplifiers pure clean power

Hertz Milie MLK2 or MLK3 Components and ML 2500 or ML 3000 series subs you will not be disappointed.

You may also consider the DynAudio Esotec series components they are also just as smooth.

I run a complete Hertz Mille setup in my 1995 300ZX TT. I am telling you it is sweet.

But if you don't want to spend that on your audio system since you just took the plung on the GTR. You could consider the Polk Audio SR Series components and Subs. They sound real good for the money.

Good luck on your system what ever you decide. Look into these you will be sold.

I haven't had the door panels off yet, but I know it is at least 3".. I seen one bit of information that said 4". So it looks like any quality 6 1/2 should fit.
