Audio upgrade opinions for my 2009 GT-R?

The factory Bose system is just terrible. I plan to keep the source unit since everything is so integrated, but add the following:

1 JL Audio 10w7 sub side mounted in trunk in fiberglass/MDF enclosure

1 JL Audio HD750/1 amplifier to run the sub

1 JL Audio HD600/4 amplifier to run the component set(s)

Boston Acoustics Pro60SE component set (dumping the current 3-way config)

Boston Acoustics Neo Type-M Imaging System

A line driver from AudioControl - probably a LC8

Dynamat as needed

I will probably dump the center channel speaker all together and only add back rear speakers if needed.

I'm interested in hearing feedback from G35/G37 owners or owners of similar sized coupe vehicles. My main music tastes are hard rock, metal, and a little hip hop. Thanks.

If he wants to run jl by all means let him run it. Nothing wrong with that. I would not worry about messing with your rears. Just focus on the front stage, maybe even consider running an active setup.

My first advice is to get off the JL bandwagon, you going for SQ or SPL?
I'm open to all suggestions. SQ is my top priority.

The JL amps are attractive because of their physical size - also looked at the Alpine PDX's. The trunk isn't huge and I'd like to keep at least enough room for 1 carry on suit case and a laptop bag.

From our drive home last month. We bought it in San Jose and drove it down route 1.

Yea the PDX amps are nice, i've had a 1000.1 and loved it, my main problem with JL is that theres better for the $$ but considering you just bought a GT-R I guess you have the cash to spend on it, for great SQ look into CDT ES's or Golds ran active, I love mine. As far as a sub the FI Q line sounds pretty good, as do SI MAG's if you want to go sealed.

hell i second that only b/c it's a GT-R. for that kind of money and car i'd put something on the higher end. all JL is for civic show cars, imo. i'd run an all rainbow setup or mcintosh amps with dynaudio speaker, as for processors i'd look at alpine or audiocontrol. i'm even game for an all alpine setup. just my $.02
