Audio upgrade opinions for my 2009 GT-R?

I think a JBL W10GTi off a McIntosh Amp, Rainbow speakers, three-ways active off another McIntosh, and a Nakamichi HU, but since you arent removing that HU...

Yea the PDX amps are nice, i've had a 1000.1 and loved it, my main problem with JL is that theres better for the $$ but considering you just bought a GT-R I guess you have the cash to spend on it, for great SQ look into CDT ES's or Golds ran active, I love mine. As far as a sub the FI Q line sounds pretty good, as do SI MAG's if you want to go sealed.

I don't like wasting money anymore than the next guy. For the last 5-6 years I've been strictly doing performance vehicles with no attention to the stereo - in fact removing them for weight savings. So when looking at getting "back in the game", I looked at brands I knew from before. I'm 100% open to looking at new brands and products that have come out.

My requirements are in this order:

1. Sound quality

2. Size/ability to integrate easily

3. Price

4. Looks

Nothing will be flashy in the car - everything minus a speaker grill in the truck should look factory or be hidden by panels.

Just got done watching that car on exotic sport cars on the Speed channel and yours was on there.

If I had to pick, I'd look into the Rainbow comp sets. From what I've heard, you won't see much better. Other options would be the Focal components, which would be great. I'd recommend these over the Boston Acoustics anytime. The Rainbow Germaniums have gotten great reviews.

As far as amplifiers go, you can't go wrong at all with the JL Audio amps. They're very high quality - rather expensive, but they're good. Other ones I would look at are Arc amps, and Sundown.

For subwoofers - I probably won't go so far as to recommend any myself. I'll let someone with more knowledge answer that one.

My first advice is to get off the JL bandwagon, you going for SQ or SPL?

get off the jl audio hating bandwagon that everyone on here seems to be on , and let him get what he wants if he can afford it. Nice car by the way

I never heard of rainbox before 2 days ago and have never heard their speakers in my life. I'll see if I can find someone in San Diego willing to demo them for me though as they seem to get universal praise on here.

Arc mini amps (those things are tiny)

If you didn't want to go the horn route, which is the best, then get the XS65 component set.

That is your best bet, that stuff is top of the line.

Why do you want audio? The engine note would be that for me in that car.

For me, its always no audio in performance cars because im too busy having fun driving the car to be interested in a song.

I think everything you have picked is a good choice, i would run some different components, look into a 2 way dynaudio.

Do not get the Alpine amps, the Jl's are a much better sounding amp, i would know i have owned both.

I also personally do not like audiocontrol they are too behind the technology.

I would look into a rockford 3sixty.2 or the alpine pxe-h650. The h650's auto tune will get you good sound with very minimal tuning work.
