I don't like dodge, but I gotta give it to Jeep (at least the old box XJ's like mine)....sure, everything around the engine falls apart but the engine itself is solid. Mine turns 150k this week and doesnt burn a drop of oil, leak a drop or smoke.

obviously
Got a 2000 Durango I bought new that now has 215k on it, never a single problem, and this is one of several Mopars that have given excellent service in my family.

(My '08 Ram has nearly 95k on it, and still looks/runs like brand new)

why so? mitsubishi is iffy. dont get me wrong, i love me an evo or a galant.but the eclipse motors the 4ag20 i believe get knock often. buddies gone through three motors to this day with 160k on the tach.

the diamante had motor issues iirc as well.
Got two Eclipses, a 2003 with around 160k and a 2005 with nearly that many miles, both still like champs. Friend put over 300k on his and drove it like he stole it...never any issues until he totaled it one night by taking out a stretch of fence

get a Hummer H2. you can find 08 and 09 models with very low miles on them for about 30kish

without any mods you can expect 14 to 18 mpg with the GMC 6.2L engine.

i have an 03 H2 that is just over 100k miles with a GMC 6.0L. i see no problems putting 300K+ on it, but i am hoping the engine craps out so i have an excuse to throw a big block in it.

Wife has been looking for a new SUV recently.

She really wants a Jeep Wrangler, but hates the 4dr models.

Audi SUV/crossovers are decent, but havent driven one yet

Range Rover is very nice

Ford Edge - my parents have one and the wife really liked the look and all the options available and not too pricey.

Between my dad and I, we have 9 Chevy vehicles, most of which have over 150k miles on them. No major issues whatsoever. Yeah....
hmm, the 6 that my family have owned must have ALL been lemons then. Yeah....

2011 Malibu came off the lot with interior panels that weren't secured and didn't even fit correctly. The ecu on that same car took a dump during a 370 mile trip causing the ABS to malfunction, keeping the pads tight against the rotors. We drove that junk another 120 miles home and all of the calipers, all of the rotors, the CV boots, the bearings, and the break pads were all destroyed from heat. We didn't care because the car had 2600 miles on it and we were definately not going to pay for the damage. The dealership almost just gave us a different car. The trucks are slightly more decent and I presume that you and your dad mainly owned trucks, but all of the passenger cars are absolute trash.

I miss LS powered Pontiacs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
Don't get me started on that bunk goat!! The 5th gen camaros are based off of that garbage platform, making that division of chevy the most retarded design group in the game! They might as well have made it front wheel drive!

Oh well, at least the Volt is doing alright. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif Not like they are catching on fire or anything.

Oh and just bc hyuandai and Kia have stopped making TOTAL crap doesn't make them a top pick in their class. They still fall behind Toyota AND Honda. They're just actually finally worth mentioning still not top dogs though.
