let me break it down for you..

kia - low price, medium quality, budget

honda - reliability, however cheapening quality, affordable

toyota - reliable, great cars, some what decent styling @ princ3mo ;

hyundai - greatly changed in the few recent years. avoid all older hyundai pre 2004.

VW - fun cars, nice when new, known electrical issues, high maintenance costs

mitsubishi - fun, fast, but not made to last.

nissan - quality cars, usually heavy, expensive, pretty reliable

subaru - reliable, somewhat expensive, awd, built sturdy, retain value

Just my .02.

but what sort of vehicle? 2 door? 4 door? wagon? van? truck? going for eco? power? budget?

The lines are blurred when many of the Japanese cars are US made, and US cars are made with parts from foreign countries (or made in Mexico or Canada).

not sure i would ever drive a Kia or a Suzuki or a Hyundai.... i drive a 97 honda with 180k miles and it runs fine. think hondas have been known to last over 300k

I just picked up a 99 Honda CRV,and it is pretty decent for what I paid for it..has 162K..my 98 chevy has 229K, have a 90 240sx that I bought new, and threw a rod in it @140mph,with 364K, and still will turn over/not ceased up..Have to say though..90-93 Acura Integras 5spd, has been the best cars Ive ever owned

I rented a Kia Forte a few weeks back, it was a really nice car and got 38 mpg on a 500 mi trip.

No Kidden??A Neighbor just bought a new 4dr gmc truck,Silver,and Im all Jelly..Ill stick with my old one then..I did hear of a guy that owned a Pizza Dilevery place bought a used like 96 truck , and ended up putting over 1 million miles on the same engine,off a morning radio station..I never looked into finding if it was true

Newer ford> newer chebbys

Dodge= Junk

Avoid vdubs and newer cheaper hondas. I like Nissans the best out of all the asian manf's. Suburu andHyundia is good stuffs too.
