Alpine Type R 15"

This is my daily setup, so ill be running it from 20 - 60 minutes of music and at about 2/3 full volume...

I have 1 Type R dual 2ohm

I just need a new amp to power it and I wanna stick around the $200 - $300 price range, but i wanna get the most bang that wont blow my Type R

So I was thinking about sticking with Soundstream because i have had alot of good luck with their amps and other componets

2 options im considering are:

1) PCX700D

RMS @ 1 ohm: 700 watts

2) PCX1000D

RMS @ 1 ohm: 1000 watts

The next amp after that one would be a 1500watt

and at 1ohm it would push 1500 watts into it, so wouldnt that be to high? :\

Does anyone know if any of those Soundsteam amps are 0.5 ohm stable?

Cuz i might eventualy hook up 2 type Rs and run them on the amp at .5 ohm

Okay thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Cuz i can get a PCX1000D for $200 :p

I think ill use that for now, then ill sell my Type R and buy a Fi BL cuz they are 1000 watts RMS and ill keep the amp :p

Or buy a BTL and buy the Soundstream 2000Watt lol Tough choice :p

definitely go with the PCX1000 over the 700. and i don't have any experience with Fi but an SSD would prob be a good match for that amp. the BL would be able to take much, much more power esp if you get it with all the options

I know that Fi subs are for SPL but what about any other companies?

Any ideas?

I think Fi would be one of my top choices though

Just quick question ..

Could I buy a Soundstream PCX-2000D?

RMS @ 4 ohm = 1100

RMS @ 2 ohm = 1500

RMS @ 1 ohm = 2000

Its 1100 watts at 4ohm which would bump my Dual 2 ohm Type R 15" hard as hell

And later I wanted to buy Fi BL or BTL sub and it would still bump that for the future

Yeah, if the amp puts out rated power, that would actually be a pretty good decision. Make sure you have the electrical to back it up.

I Have a 105amp alternator which I know I can't power 2k watts but would it be close enough to being able to power it?
It's could be fine, but depends on a couple of factors. You'll definitely want to run a sealed AGM type battery up front, the biggest one that will fit in your stock location, as well as a second AGM battery in the trunk. You'll also want to do the Big 3 (search on the forums if you don't know what it is) and run 1/0 gauge wire for everything. After that, you'll just have to keep an eye on your voltage, and as long as it doesn't fluctuate too much, you should be fine w/o an HO alt.

For batteries, look into Kinetik, Deka Intimidators, and XS. There are lots of other brands to consider as well, but these are the most popular.

@ DarkScorpion

So im installing this in my 92 Buick, so its really not worth all those extras right now ..

But do you think I could run 1000watts without the 0 gauge, HO Alternator or Deep cycle battery? I wanna get the most Watts out of my cars stock electrical system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I cant imagine that the amp would draw more than 80 amps even when it peeks, or am i wrong?

P.S. Thanks for all the information, i just dont think that my 92 Buick deserves all that special wiring and extras lol
